I am Special Consulting LLC Advocates for Displaced Federal Employees at the Public Servant Summit 2025

Melissa Scales Hamilton, CEO of I Am Special Consulting LLC, attended the Public Servant Summit on March 1, 2025, which aimed to support DEI and Federal employees who were affected by the recent layoffs. This community event offered attendees career prospects, community resources from local and state organizations, and conversations about the implications of recent actions taken by our current executive office.

The summit, hosted by Council Member At-Large Ivey and Congressman Ivey, featured notable speakers such as Rob Shriver, former OPM Director and current Managing Director at Democracy Forward, and Michelle Singletary from The Washington Post. Discussions focused on recent executive orders, Federal employee rights, and the challenges faced by public servants in the current political landscape.

Ms. Scales Hamilton’s attendance at the summit was motivated by her desire to advocate for persons living with a disability and gain resources that were impacted by recent policy changes affecting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the federal workforce.
